TEMPLE NEWSAM HOUSEThis breathtaking and magnificent stately home is one of the more celebrated historic houses in England. Boasting over 30 interiors of outstanding and sumptuous collections of furniture, ceramics, pottery, old master paintings and silverware, the House is full of treasures. Set in acres of beautiful parkland you can also wander the grounds, enjoy a picnic and visit the Home Farm.
The House is now open six days each week: closed Mondays except Bank Holidays and special days. Summer opening times April to October 10.30am to 5pm. Last entries 4.15pm. Admission charge applies, less 20% for LeedsCard and BreezeCard holders.
Audio Tours are available which cover the history, furnishing and paintings in each room as you go round the House. There is a separate Audio Tour for younger members of the family visiting. On a personal note, the Audio Tour adds greatly to the interest and excitement of the visit, but please allow a minimum of three hours for the complete tour of the House. Perhaps, a further visit would be desirable to absorb completely the ambience of the House. The above Tours are free, but there is the usual entry fee for the House.
The Farm and Courtyard Cafe are closed Mondays, except Bank Holidays, Summer and October School Holidays.
For further details and other information, please phone Temple Newsam House 0113 2647 321.
