Old yet new

Gorgie Mission as a building recently celebrated its centenary, but the church that meets inside it are very aware that the age we live in is drastically different to 100 years ago.

Our aim isn't to try and make the message relevant, because we believe the Bible is as relevant now as it always has been with some strikingly up to date story lines. But we do want to make the way we present the message relevant to the people of this area.

Some people comment on the unique building style which stands out within its surroundings, but we prefer to focus more upon the product than the packaging. We are privileged to have a great message to proclaim as found in the Bible, providing the possibility of peace with God, forgiveness for sin and the certainty of a home prepared for us in heaven.

The Past and The Future
This picture we feel sums up our perspectives, as we look back to the "Cross of Jesus Christ" and consider the sacrifice made there for us, but we also look forward to the "coming of Jesus Christ" in the sky, and anticipate all that He has in store for those who have trusted and are following him.

Meetings in Gorgie
Church Events
We have a varied programme of events, and although we only started the Sunday morning service in the spring of 2006 it has been growing steadily, and with the Sunday School running concurrently with the service, taking care of the younger people for the second half of the time in a setting more suited to their age group, we hope that you will find Gorgie Mission to be accessible to younger families, and older people alike.

We believe "church" is about more than just Sundays, it's about a community of people growing in a relationship with the Lord Jesus, and sharing in fellowship with one another.

We invite you to come and join us sometime, whether out of curiosity or a genuine desire to meet with ordinary Bible believing Christians.

We look forward to meeting you soon.
